Do You Remember That Movie…?

Have you ever been in that situation where you’re in a group of people and one of them makes some pop culture reference… but for some reason you can’t remember the movie, or you don’t remember seeing it at all? Don’t you feel like a complete idiot until you remember it? After beating yourself over the head for hours trying to remember it… have you ever immediately gone to blockbuster to rent it because it was just that good? No? How about you young whipper snappers who can barely remember the 80s? I bet it happens to you all the time… (Man I feel so old… especially since *I* barely remember the 80s)
Of course you have, we all have. However, when you’re in this situation and you cant remember the reference, sometimes you feel like you lost out on an important part of the conversation, and it’s not like you can just ask what that reference was from, unless you’re feeling like being ridiculed by your friends for the rest of the day.
I find myself in that situation all the time. Though, I usually find myself making the comment. I have owned and/or rented thousands of movies personally, and I have watched countless thousands of hours of television throughout the years. I also have an ongoing quest to keep myself up on pop culture; even if it means watching a movie made when I was only a few years old. As I command all of that useless knowledge… I still occasionally find myself on the receiving end of one of those moments. Because of that, I decided to create this site.
I’ve been tossing around the idea of starting a movie/tv review site for a while. Today I decided it was finally time to do it. This site will probably mention SOME new movies… However we will concentrate on the modern classics; Say… 1980s and up, but nothing is set in stone. I highly doubt we will make any posts on classic-classics, you know, the really old ones. Mostly because of the fact I have a bit of a pet peeve for grainy, black and white footage with bad special effects. Yes, I know, its the best they could do back then; I’ll keep it in mind, but it probably isn’t going to happen. Maybe I’ll bring on somebody just to do clasic-classics.
